Murder
By: Luke Marks

How would our life be without murder? The caution tape wouldn’t be there, the white lines outlining a human body wouldn’t be there, and there would be no need for weapons or detectives. Unfortunately, in our world murder occurs every day.

Murder is something that someone else commits to take the life of another. It is a pointless act that bad people usually to do to get attention, steal money, or just to kill. Why would anyone want to do this? The police put these bad people in jail or might have to kill them so criminals don’t do things like murder and robberies. What the police don’t know is that putting the criminals in jail is just making them want to get out sooner and do the same thing.

There are many murders that occur every day, but there was one attack that happened on September 11th, 2001; when two planes crashed into the World Trade Center at different times. People were devastated when the first plane crashed, but it wasn’t enough for the terrorists though. They had to crash another plane into the Twin Towers. Civilians in New York were scared and many people died that day. What surprised people was that there was even a third plane that crashed into the Pentagon. That was a day to remembered because so many lives were taken. The day when it was raining fire and ash, heroes, innocent people, and even the idiotic terrorists that wanted to make headline news in America all died.

Life without crime and murder takes jobs away from a lot of people. Even thinking about having a life free of chaos is crazy. There would be no need for rules, police, investigators, also the President wouldn’t have to worry about as much. In our World the caution tape is there, next to the white outline of the dead body, and there are need for weapons of destruction and are used for murder every day.

Murder is very, very cruel, but it is very hard to think life without murder. Unfortunately, murder occurs every day.

The Man with a Cold
Creative Story: Luke Marks

Sicknesses come and go around the world. Some have diseases that are incurable and some sicknesses are minor and might go away in a day or so. The old man who lives alone has a cold and it seems it will never go away.

He has been sleeping and sleeping trying to get rid of the evil cold he had since the terrible winter passed last December. It is now the middle of the summer and many people are having fun enjoying the nice weather. Thomas the old man lay on his couch with no one to help him. His wife died last December and his daughter ran away the December before that. What has he done wrong? Does he deserve this and why can’t he enjoy the rest of his years left in his life? It is because something is watching him. Like a ghost or something like a breeze was following him.

“Who is there,” Thomas says as he woke up at two o’ clock in the morning, after a long day of rest. A sound had been made in his small, dusty living room. He got up and turned on his flash light. The light was shaking quickly because Thomas is very weak and could not hold the flash light steady. Thomas looked at the window in his living room. It was open slightly. “Darn kids be messin’ with my house again, I will call the cops next time they wake me.” He said trying so hard to close the window. Finally he was able to close the window and go back to bed. It was not the kids he thought was disturbing him. It was something else.

Three other times he heard noises in and around his house when around four o’ clock in the morning. He should be resting, but something kept bothering him. Thomas threw many blankets off of him and went to check what or who was making a sound. With his flash light in his right hand he walked into the living room again. The window was open more than was before and a wind started to pick up, which made him cold. “It is four o’ clock in the morning” Thomas yelled. He tried closing the window, but he was too weak. The wind blew onto his stomach. “O boy is that cold, I need to close this window!” yelling even louder. “Why, why does this happen to me!” “Help, help!” Thomas got dizzy and fell to the floor where the wind had blew him. It was the cold wind that had killed the man. “Why did he deserve this, why?”
